The first block in with Gamblin Portland Greys. Using three greys and white for four values total, I tried to keep them as close as possible, leaving the highest and lowest keys for accents when I get to the color stage. I am focusing on making a 'picture,' using the elements that are real, but arranging them to form a pattern of design. The drawing plus the block in took about four hours. I will have this model and setup available to me every Thursday through August, so that leaves a week between each session for the paint to dry.
